FAQs | Our Story | What We Believe

What Kind of Church is FaithWord?
Simply put, FaithWord Church is a Word of Faith church. Faith in the Word of God is essential for the believer to walk in victory and properly partake of everything that belongs to him through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Winning the lost and teaching the believer the Word of God is our number one priority.

When does FaithWord meet?
Our regular meeting schedule is Sunday mornings at 10am and Sunday evenings at 6pm. On the last Sunday night of every month we have a miracle & healing service.

Does FaithWord have ministry for my children?
Yes! We believe that God loves children and that they are important to Him, therefore ministering to them is a priority for us. Our nursery and pre-school ministries are clean, safe and fun for your kids and are provided at all Sunday services. FaithKids meet every Sunday morning at 10 am and ministers to children in grades 1-6.

Why should my family attend FaithWord Church?
The church you attend is one of the most important decisions you will make in your life. It determines where you are headed spiritually. Faith only comes by hearing continually the Word of God taught under the anointing and spirit of faith. The church you attend and the messages preached from the pulpit have a great influence on your relationship with God, your financial well being, your health and the health of your children, your joy and emotions, your marriage and relationships, and can determine if you fulfill the call of God for your life. When choosing a church the most important thing is to choose a church with the message and spirit of faith!

Why does the Pastor wear a coat and tie?
Pastors are a gift from God (see Ephesians 4:11) placed in your life to feed you the Word whereby you may be saved, healed, prosper financially and delivered from all bondage. With the calling of a pastor comes great responsibility and great honor. Actually the Word of God teaches us that the office of pastor should receive double honor over every other position, including government and in the home. How you view and respond to your pastor affects how much of the anointing you will receive from him to bless and set you free!

Why do people laugh, run and dance during the service?
Rejoicing by dancing, laughing, running, shouting, and lifting hands is an expression of faith in what Christ has done for us through the work of redemption. The Spirit of faith is primarily an attitude of joy, rejoicing and thanksgiving.. At FaithWord we are happy about the victory we have obtained through Christ and we love to show it!

Why does FaithWord meet on Sunday nights?
Sunday night is what we call our “Word of Faith meeting.” This is the time when we school ourselves in faith. We live in a time when church attendance is declining, yet the Word teaches us that in the last days we should assemble together more often, not less. We also understand that faith comes by continual meditation and repetition of the Word.

On November 30, 2003 founding pastors, Joel & Mickey Grantham held the first Sunday service of what is today known as FaithWord Church. Victory World Church, as it was called then, saw immediate favor with God and man by receiving permission to use a vacant church building located at 1171 Cottage Hill Road, which held offices, classrooms, a fellowship hall, basketball court and a sanctuary that could hold 100 people, rent free.

Over the next three years the church grew steadily in numbers and many were saved, filled with the Holy Spirit and water baptized. In 2006, Pastor Joel began holding a monthly Miracle and Healing service at the Mobile Convention Center. It was a very exciting time for the church as God was confirming His Word with signs and wonders. It was also becoming increasingly clear that God’s plan for the church was for it to be much more than just a local church reaching the city of Mobile.

In March 2007 Victory World Church shifted from being a local church to an Evangelistic ministry under the name, “Joel Grantham Evangelistic Association” with ministry headquarters in Mobile, AL. The monthly miracle services continued, not at the Convention Center downtown, but in local churches across the city.

By 2008 the healing ministry was going strong with not only the monthly miracle services being held in Mobile, but Pastor Joel was traveling extensively teaching the Word of God and demonstrating God’s healing power. Many wonderful testimonies of God’s healing power have been received as a result of these services. Literally hundreds have been saved and healed!

During the fall of 2008 the Lord led Pastor Joel to begin holding weekly “Word of Faith” meetings in Mobile, Alabama at the Marriott Hotel with the purpose of feeding the believer the meat of God’s Word, teaching and imparting the principles and spirit of faith.

On March 22, 2009 Pastor Joel & Mickey Grantham re-launched the local church, today know as FaithWord Church.
